What are the qualifications?

What are investment options?

Investors can choose from the below investment options as per the updated Act 63/2015 and Regulatory Decree 15-A/2015 in July 2015.

Property Investment

  • Purchase real estate properties worth € 500,000 or more outside Lisbon and Porto. 
  • Acquire real estate property worth € 350,000 or more to renovate. The property should at least be 30 years old or in the urban regeneration areas.

Capital Investment

  • Make a minimum investment of € 500,000 in scientific research activities.
  • Invest a minimum of € 250,000 to support Portugal’s local arts or for the refurbishment of national heritage projects.
  • Make a minimum investment of € 500,000 to purchase shares in investment funds or venture capital firms that offer capital to small or medium-sized Portuguese companies.
  • Applicants must provide employment opportunities for 10 or more people.
  • The minimum capital transfer investment €1,5 million.
